Configuring TCP/IP Properties in WIN 9X, XP/2000 and Vista


TCP/IP settings for Windows 9X


1. Go to Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Network to open the Network Control Panel.

2. Click on Configuration tab Select ‘Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)’ and click on Properties.

3. Go to the IP Address tab and Check Specify an IP address and enter the IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and subnet mask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

4.Go to Gateway tab and enter the gateway IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

5. Go to the DNS configuration tab and enter Primery DNS as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and Secondary DNS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

6. Click OK and restart the PC.


TCP/IP settings for Windows XP/ 2000


1. Double click on Local Area Connection and select Properties.

2. Select ‘Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)’ and click on Properties.

3. Select ‘Use following IP address’and enter IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, subnet mask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, Default gatway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, Preferred DNS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Alternate DNS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

4. Click OK.


TCP/IP settings for Windows Vista

1. Go to Start-> Control Panel-> Network and Internet to open the Network Control Panel.

2. Click on Manage network connections on the Left pane

3. Double click on Local Area Connection and select Properties.

4.Select ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’ and click on Properties.

5. Select ‘Use following IP address and enter IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, subnet mask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, Default gatway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, Preferred DNS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and Alternate DNS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

6. Click OK.
